BANCOMEXT has promoted the energy sector through medium- and long-term financing to develop, construct, and implement power generation and “Oil & Gas” subsector projects.

In this sense, Bancomext, in response to the Federal Government's priority strategies, continued in 2020 supporting projects aligned with the Federal Government's National Development Program.

Bancomext participated in financing the construction of the project and the installation of a gas compression platform, located in the block AS01 integral production asset, in the KU-MALOOB-ZAP field, in the Campeche area of the Gulf of Mexico:

  • The operation to be financed contributes directly to the generation of foreign exchange through complementary financing for Mexican companies, contributing to national development, such as strengthening the national supply chain.
  • With the support of Bancomext, the aim is to complement financial support in conjunction with commercial banks through a long-term syndicated loan.

Bancomext structured financing for developing an onshore field through an Exploration and Extraction Contract in under license from the National Hydrocarbons Commission. This contract includes the drilling of tertiary and Mesozoic wells. The field is located 22 km from the Dos Bocas port (for export). Within a 7-kilometer perimeter Pemex oil facilities are located that would facilitate interconnection.
