Main achievements in Regional Directorates
The relevant operations in 2020 of the Northeast Regional Directorate were:
- A simple loan was granted to a steel industry company for 42.6 million dollars to finance working capital needs for production, acquisition of raw material, forward sales, inventories, and debt profile improvement. This steel industry company is vertically integrated and exports 40% of its sales to more than 20 countries. It has plants in the US and Mexico, located in Nuevo León.
- Six companies belonging to various sectors of the economy were offered assistance to face the health contingency and low economic activity through restructuring and rescheduling for 597.86 million pesos.
- A 50 million dollar loan was authorized to a Mexican industrial group that includes three business units, Cables and Wires, Transformers and Infrastructure and Food, to finance the company’s working capital needs and/or that of its subsidiaries, derived from the expansion of productive capacity. The company exports 38% of its sales to more than 40 countries and has 32 production plants and various distribution centers in the US and Latin America. Its workforce exceeds 25,000 people.
- Upholding support to a syndicated operation was authorized for an important cement company having more than 110 years experience and a presence in the five continents, through the renewal of its lines of credit for working capital, for a global amount of 135.7 million dollars (92.8 million long-term and 42.9 million dollars revolving). It is an important currency-generating company that employs more than 40,000 people around the world. 54% of its sales are in the T-MEC region.
The relevant operations in 2020 of the Central Regional Directorate were:
During 2020, the financing granted by the Central Regional Directorate was used mainly to support Mexican companies in their growth process, increasing their exports, foreign currency revenue, and emerging support. The following was observed:
- Derived from the effects caused by COVID-19, this Directorate contributed to the support of 18 creditors to reschedule the portfolio balance for an approximate amount of 21,088 million pesos and the support given to working capital for 120 million pesos.
- Under the practices established in the Corporate Governance recommendation guidelines, Prime Certification was obtained for one creditor, resulting in two companies now adhering to this scheme.
- A credit line was granted as part of the assistance to new sectors in the creative industry for 150 million pesos.
- Support for letters of credit was granted for 10 million dollars to ensure supply for inventories import.
- Six creditors were authorized, for a total of 248 MDP, for working capital as part of the new support program “Impulso Pyme.”
- Support was granted for financial factoring for 10 million dollars as part of value chain assistance.

During 2020, the Western Regional Directorate, through the promotion and granting of financial support, continued to strengthen Mexican companies in other sectors of the economy.
The relevant operations of this first semester were:
- A factoring line was granted to suppliers in the State of Baja California for 13 million dollars under the technological platform of this Institution, seeking to replace its foreign suppliers with national ones. A leading Mexican company in the region, manufacturing glass containers, that has entered into supply contracts with companies having a global presence under the T-MEC.
- With 50 million dollars to finance CAPEX, participation in Syndicated Credit was authorized to the most important producer, processor, and exporter of beef in Mexico, with five production centers: Durango, Sinaloa, Nuevo León, Michoacán, and Baja California. The company generates more than 10,000 direct jobs and maintains commercial relationships with more than 80 thousand agricultural and livestock producers. It exports 900 million dollars annually (34% of its sales) under the T-MEC.
- Under the SME Program, a line for working capital for 20 million pesos was approved for a company with more than 20 years’ experience, mainly in systems and equipment for the Fire Network, serving various sectors, such as maritime, port, commercial, and tourist. It has 67 clients (62 are private companies and 5 are public).
- Two credits were authorized and arranged with a company that produces edible vegetable oils: 10 million dollars to finance its working capital and 3 million dollars to finance its suppliers through the Bancomext platform, which has already begun to operate, seeking to benefit more than 300 suppliers.
- Two credits were authorized to a company dedicated to the manufacture and assembly of steel structures. 250 million pesos to finance its permanent working capital and 125 million pesos to finance its suppliers through this Institution’s platform.
- Two lines were awarded to a leading company in the State of Jalisco, an exporter and leader in tool manufacturing; one line for 3.0 million dollars to support their inventories (letters of credit) and 1.5 million dollars to support their network of providers through the platform of this Institution.
- A company that manufactures cardboard packaging from recycled fibers and has 18 plants in 9 states of the country, generating more than 7,500 direct jobs, having with 48% of sales denominated in dollars and a participant in the synergies created under the T-MEC, was authorized to participate in Syndicated Credit with 125.0 million pesos.
- A credit line for 30.0 million pesos was authorized to manufacture plastic and metal parts, including doors for pets, to support its permanent working capital needs under the Impulso Pyme 50 scheme. 90% of its income comes from its exports.
