Bancomext continued to offer specialized products to develop industrial infrastructure in the country, promoting foreign investment, employment growth, and foreign currency revenue.
Segments served to include:
- Investment and Real Estate Trusts (FIBRAS) both with corporate working capital lines for eventual liquidity needs that arose in 2020 due to the pandemic, and with a long-term line financing 14 specific projects with a spread of 62 million dollars to properties in the following locations: 4 in Monterrey; 1 in Reynosa, 1 in Ciudad Juárez, 5 in Chihuahua.
- CKD instruments with resources from Mexican Afores that improve the Mexican workers' pension funds, with direct credits to 5 projects and a spread of 18.5 million dollars to properties in the following locations: 1 in Acuña, 1 in Tijuana, 1 in Querétaro, and 1 in Hermosillo.
- Regional Developers, through 8 direct loans in this segment, placement of more than 80 million dollars was achieved, which allowed financing 24 industrial buildings located in Monterrey (2), Piedras Negras (1); Querétaro (3), CDMX (7), Toluca (3) Chihuahua (3) and Ciudad Juárez (5).
The portfolio indicators for 2020 were as follows:
- In terms of balance, it was the third most important portfolio at the sector level, contributing 25,950 million pesos that represented 12.7% of the total balance of the first-tier private sector portfolio. This portfolio presented an increase of 13.1% compared to 2019, amounting to 22,949 million pesos.
- The portfolio in this sector generated the third-highest contribution to the financial margin plus commissions, amounting to 607 million pesos, equivalent to 11.7% of total first-tier revenues in Corporate Banking.
- This sector contributed 71 companies to the number of benefited companies, representing 14.5% of the total, placing it as the second most important portfolio in Corporate Banking.
- The allocation of resources amounted to 6,976 million pesos, representing a 27.2% increase when compared to the same period of the previous year, which amounted to 5,485 million pesos.
- The pipeline portfolio at the end of 2020 amounted to MXN 14,236, with 38 projects under study.
