The Bank’s operation and business needs of financial resources were met with sufficiency and opportunity. Transfer prices were set for financial products at market levels. The balance collected in national currency amounted to 124.4 billion pesos and in foreign currency the equivalent of 109.7 billion pesos, resulting in a total of 241.5 billion pesos. Thirty-two correspondent banks assigned a non-committed line of credit to BANCOMEXT.

In capital markets, three issues of stock certificates were placed in May 2018: 5.1 billion pesos for three years, 740 million pesos for five years and 2.1 billion pesos for six years (reopening), with rates of TIIE -5 base points, TIIE -1 base point, and 7.42%, respectively. This debt placement experienced over-demand on the initial amount offered of 5 billion pesos, reaching a total of 8 billion pesos, in addition to having received the highest ratings of local debt from Moody's rating agencies (“Aaa.mx”) And Standard & Poor's México (“mxAAA”).

The Institution’s resources, and third party resources it administers (BANCOMEXT Pension Fund, Special Savings Loan Trust, BANCOMEXT Retirement Loans, BANCOMEXT Defined Contribution Pension Fund), were invested under market conditions, based on the applicable risk and operation limits, in accordance with the investment policies of the respective Committees.

Within the functions of the Mexican Government as an Export Credit Agency (ECA), Bancomext negotiated and renewed credit lines and promoted the use of long-term resources of foreign development banking to finance credit programs.


These lines support the importation of capital goods as well as investment, renewable energy, sustainability, and environmental projects. Bancomext’s premise has been to provide the business sector with convenient financial conditions for their projects, and positioning of their business incursions in international markets. The balances at the end of December 2018 are the following: Multilateral organizations USD 204 million and bilateral USD 414 million.
