2018 highlighted the support for strategic sectors linked to the increased volume of the country’s non-oil exports and foreign currency revenue, such as tourism, export maquiladora industry, Industrial Infrastructure development, automotive and auto parts, transport, logistics, aerospace, electrical-electronic, energy, chemical-pharmaceutical, mining-metallurgic and telecommunications.

BANCOMEXT financing of these sectors has led to employment creation and securement, and the financing and development of the country's value chain, whose impact is reflected in the institution’s main indicators, such as First-tier private sector credit portfolio balance, number of companies benefited, granting of resources, financial margin revenue, and commissions, as well as prospective customers’ portfolio (Pipe Line). The detail thereof is indicated below:

9.8% increase in first-tier private sector portfolio balance, from 180.5 billion pesos in 2017 to 198 billion pesos in 2018.  The following sectors stood out for their contribution to the first-tier private sector portfolio balance: Tourism with 15.5%, Energy with 14.4% and Industrial Infrastructure development with 13.9%.
Income from financial margin and first-tier credit commissions that contributed to the institution’s sustainability amounted to 4.4 billion pesos, reflecting a 34% growth compared to 3.2 billion pesos in 2017. The portfolios that stand out for their contribution to income consolidation were: Energy with 16.9%, Tourism with 14.1% and Industrial Infrastructure development with 13.1%.
Regarding the First-Tier placement or spread of resources, at the end of 2018, financial support had been channeled for a total of 144.8 billion pesos.
The following strategic sectors stood out during this period for their contribution in channeling resources: Transportation, Logistics and Aerospace with 23.3%, Energy with 14.6% and Automotive and Auto Parts with 12.9%.

The number of companies benefited during the year 2018 was 1,207, a figure that includes 509 companies receiving direct support and 698 companies indirectly supported. The following priority sectors stand out for their contribution to the number of companies benefited: Tourism with 22.8%, Industrial Infrastructure development with 18.9% and Energy with 11.8%.
At the end of the fiscal year 2018, the pipeline portfolio presented an increase of 17.7% compared to December 2017, from 129.7 billion to 152.7 billion pesos in 2018. It is important to note that this pipeline portfolio has been steadily rising since its inception in 2009.
